Tynor Foot Drop Splint – Advanced Orthopedic Support
The Tynor Foot Drop Splint is a precision-molded orthopedic device designed to provide a "swing phase" assist for individuals suffering from foot drop. This condition, often caused by nerve injury, muscle disorders, or neurological conditions (like a stroke), prevents the front part of the foot from lifting. This splint holds the foot in a functional position (dorsiflexion), preventing the toe from dragging and ensuring a natural walking pattern.
Key Features & Benefits
- Anatomical Design: The splint is molded into a leaf-spring shape to provide the necessary push-off and support during the walking cycle without restricting essential movement.
- Customizable Fit: Made from high-quality polypropylene, the splint can be customized using a heat gun for a perfect, individualized fit to the user's specific calf and foot shape.
- Thin & Lightweight Wall: Designed with a slim profile that fits easily inside most standard lace-up shoes, allowing the user to maintain their regular footwear style.
- Durable Construction: The high-grade polymer material is resistant to fatigue and "creeping," ensuring the splint maintains its shape and support level even with daily, long-term use.
- Ultimate Comfort: Features a soft, padded calf strap and high-quality foam liners that reduce pressure on the skin and prevent chafing during movement.
- Easy to Use: The simple hook-and-loop closure system allows for quick application and removal, empowering users to manage the device independently.
Primary Medical Applications
- Peroneal Nerve Palsy: Provides support when the nerve responsible for lifting the foot is damaged.
- Post-Stroke Recovery: Aids in gait training for hemiplegic patients.
- Neurological Conditions: Useful for those with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Cerebral Palsy, or Polio.
- Post-Surgical Stabilization: Protects the foot and ankle following specific orthopedic surgeries.

Instructions for Use
- Preparation: Ensure your foot and lower leg are clean and dry. It is highly recommended to wear a long cotton sock under the splint for maximum comfort.
- Positioning: Place the heel firmly into the back of the splint. The base should run along the bottom of the foot, and the vertical part should align with the back of the calf.
- Fastening: Secure the calf strap first to stabilize the splint, then ensure the foot is positioned at a 90° angle.
- Footwear: Slide the foot (with the splint on) into a supportive shoe. Lace-up sneakers or shoes with adjustable straps provide the best stability.
Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the plastic shell with a damp cloth and mild soap. The fabric straps can be hand-washed in cold water.
- Drying: Air dry in the shade. Do not expose to high heat or direct sunlight, as this may warp the plastic.
- Inspection: Periodically check for any cracks in the plastic or wear in the Velcro. Replace the splint if the structural integrity is compromised.
Pro Tip: If the splint feels slightly too long for your shoe, the toe area can be carefully trimmed with heavy-duty scissors to match the insole of your footwear. For the most natural walking gait, ensure your shoes have a firm heel counter.
